Will I need to pay anything out-of-pocket beyond my plan payment fees?
Depending on the benefit plan that you choose, there may be certain out-of-pocket expenses. You can view our comparative table to see exactly what each plan offers. The Deluxe plan is our most comprehensive plan at $19 / month and with it the customer is eligible for any designer frame and progressive or single vision lenses at no further cost beyond the plan’s annual fees.
Can I pick out any frame that I want?
Yes. We get it that the frame you choose makes a difference and we want to offer you the utmost flexibility in your choice. We offer thousands of frames in different styles, colors, materials and shapes including many top brand names. Furthermore, the Deluxe plan covers the cost of any frame you may want, while the Extended plan covers the cost of all non-premium frames. The Standard plan provides 50% off all non-premium brands and 25% off premium frames that are already competitively priced to begin with.
Is there a waiting period?
There is no waiting period for customers who choose to pay their fees annually - you can use your benefits immediately. For those of you that choose to pay monthly or quarterly there will be a 6-month waiting period for a free pair of glasses.
— What about out-of-network reimbursement?
You can get your eye exam or purchase your frame from day 1 of coverage. If you pay your fees on a monthly basis, you will be eligible for reimbursement after a 9-month waiting period. If you pay annually, you will be eligible for immediate reimbursement.
What kind of benefits do family members get?
UVP family members pay reduced rates for their benefit plans:
Spouse / Life Partner (2nd family member) - 80% of selected plan's annual fee.
Children (3rd family member and onward) - 60% of selected plan's annual fee.
How do I use my benefits?
Just login to your personal account on the UVP website to claim your benefit. Select the frame you want, the lenses you need and follow the simple and intuitive instructions. It’s that easy.
How do I get my money back for out-of-network purchase?
If you have selected eyewear from our website then there is no need to submit any paperwork.
If you have purchased out-of-network eyewear or had an eye exam, just upload your invoice or email us the required information. If you are eligible for a refund, we will reimburse you within 30 days.
How do I get my pair of glasses?
If you choose to access your benefits from our online catalog we will ship you your eyewear within several days.
Can I get Progressive lenses (multi-focal)?
Yes. UVP specializes in premium-quality progressive multi-focal lenses which we can fit to almost any frame. With the Deluxe plan, the cost of multi-focal lenses is covered in the premium while the Extended and Standard plans offer 50% off on prices that are already competitive to begin with.
Are you an insurance company?
No. UVP is not a health insurance plan nor a medical discount plan, but rather a benefit plan provider via a subscription program.
Can I upgrade my lenses?
Yes. We offer various upgrades to your lenses in addition to the UV, Anti-Scratch and Anti-Glare coatings that come free with all plans. You can also upgrade your lenses to multi-focal or transition as well as RX. sunglasses.
Can I get contact lenses?
Yes. We offer contact lenses. Feel free to check out our comparative plans to see which one offers the best value.
What is the difference between in and out-of-network?
When we say in-network we mean redeeming your benefit plan from our extensive online catalog - that includes over 2000 premium and non-premium frames and every possible lens you could possibly need. Generally speaking, this provides UVP customers with the best value. Out-of-network refers to redeeming your frames from any optometrist or brick and mortar retailer outside of our own shop, as well as eye exams at your personal ophthalmologist.
Can I see an ophthalmologist / optometrist for an eye exam?
Yes. You can choose any ophthalmologist or optometrist that you want. We will also reimburse you up to $40 for what you spend on your examination regardless of where it was done. Please note, UVP is neither an insurance plan, nor a medical discount plan.
What if I’m not happy with my pair of glasses?
No worries. You just have to return them, no questions asked, and we will provide you with another pair.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
All of our glasses come with a 365 day manufacturer’s warranty. This covers any possible defect in the frame or lens that can reasonably be attributed to the manufacturer’s responsibility and not a result of normal wear and tear, accidental damage from handling or improper use. We provide an easy and friendly process for returning and replacing glasses.
